Beta testing

We are looking for people, which are interested in testing of DatAdmin.

You will obtain full version of DatAdmin (both Professional and Ultimate Edition) and we expected, that you will report issues (bugs, or suggestions of new features) in our online bug-reporting system. If we have no report from you for 3 months, your license can be canceled.

It has following adavantages for you:

  • Full version for free
  • You can influence, which features will be implemented in next versions

Please if you have a minute, also answer this questions helping us to better understand of your reported issues:

  1. Which database you are connecting from DatAdmin(MySQL/MySQL over PHP tunnel/SQL Server/SQLite/MS Access/Posgtre SQL/other)?
  2. How large is your database maintained by DatAdmin (aprox. number of databases, tables, max. row count)?
  3. Do you use any non-ascii character sets (cyrilics, japan, ...)?
  4. Do you use BLOB fields (images, binary data...)?
  5. Do you use references/foreign keys?

Numbering of (beta)-versions

  • Release versions - version number consists of three parts, second number is even (eg. 3.2.1)
  • Beta versions - version number consists of three parts, second number is odd (eg. 3.3.1)
  • Alpha version - version number consists of four parts, last number is number of build
  • Development runs in two branches, stable and beta. More complex features are done in beta-branch, bug fixed and small enhancements are done in stable branch. Beta-versions can be less stable.

Automatized testing

Starting from version 3.3.x, every beta-version should pass automatic tests before uploading to web page. These tests use saved jobs. Tests are focused on backups, exports and imports.
